Terms
These are the terms for texting the Big-Mad Study’s number: how you join, what we send, and how to stop. What the rest of the site keeps about you, and how to have it deleted, is on the privacy page.
- 01
Who sends the texts
The Big-Mad Behavioral Study’s number is run by Good Citizens Corporation, a design and software studio in Phoenix, Arizona, for the study described at goodcitizens.us/big-mad-study. The number isn’t live yet. Until it is, the study’s pilot answers on a private web page instead.
- 02
How you join
Only people who have agreed to take part, on a private study page of their own, can join. That page shows the number. You join by texting JOIN to it, and we reply once to confirm. A text from a number that hasn’t agreed isn’t saved.
- 03
What we send, and how often
We only reply. You get one reply to each message you send, and one confirmation when you join. We never text first, never send reminders, and never send marketing. How many texts you get depends only on how often you write. Message and data rates may apply.
- 04
Stopping, and help
Reply STOP at any time and the number won’t text you again. Reply HELP for help, or write to study@goodcitizens.us. Carriers aren’t liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- 05
If a day gets hard
Nobody reads texts as they arrive, so this number can’t get you help. If you’re in crisis, or thinking about hurting yourself, call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, any hour (in the US).
- 06
Your number and what you send
We don’t share, sell or rent your mobile number, or your agreement to receive texts, with anyone. What we keep, and how to have it deleted, is on the privacy page.
