What this site is used for

We measure how goodcitizens.us is used so we can make it work better, and we publish what we find, including the numbers that go against us. It counts what people do on the site, never who they are.

Measurement began on 5 October 2026. The numbers appear here once there are enough of them to publish without pointing at anyone: at least 10 visits.

How we count

What we keep, and what we never do

A visit is a random id held by your browser tab for as long as the tab is open. It is not a cookie, it does not follow you to another visit, and we never store your address, your device’s fingerprint or your IP. Crawlers and link previews are left out, and so are people who work on the site.

We record pages read, where a visit came from, the first input it used, the screen width and the settings people ask for, links and buttons used, things rested on, how far down a page people read, time spent with each section and figure, and moments like finishing an experiment or booking a call. We never record what anyone types, and when text is copied we keep only its length.

Because nothing here can be tied to a person, we count visits from browsers that send Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control in the same way. A count under 10 is shown as “fewer than 10”, and a share only appears with at least 20 visits behind it. Typical times are medians.
