Prices from your own formula

Your prices come from your own formula, worked out the same way every time: a rate for each inch of size, plus materials, then a markup for framing, placement and care. When a gallery sells a work, its commission is added to that price.

We built this first for Sara Paula Hoffman, a visual artist we call Paula.

In use for Paula since August 2026

01 · How it works

How it works

Your prices come from your own formula, worked out the same way every time. For a panel, Paula adds its width, height and depth in inches and multiplies by her rate. She adds the cost of materials. Then she multiplies by 1.35 for framing, placement and care, and rounds up to the next hundred. When a gallery is selling the work, its commission is added on top.

Every work’s page shows its price on one line and its working one click below, so a buyer can follow each step.

Price sheets for galleries come from the same numbers, and a private page lets you try a new rate or commission before you change anything.

How it has run for Paula

August 2026: prices worked out instead of typed, and price sheets for galleries.

September 2026: a gallery’s commission built into its price.

October 2026: prices rounded up to the next hundred, and a page to try a new rate.

The whole story is in her case study.

What it doesn’t do

The formula is yours. We write down how you price; we don’t set your prices.

05 · Goes with

What it goes with

  • One catalog behind everything: Each work is recorded once, with its size, medium, price and where it has hung. Your site, price sheets, shop feed and search listings are all made from that record, so a price changed there changes everywhere.
  • Offers first, a cart for the shop: A buyer makes an offer on the work’s page, starting from the asking price, and it reaches you by email. While the work hangs in a gallery show, offers go to that gallery instead. Works in your Facebook and Instagram shop can also be bought at once by card.
  • A daily check on works in galleries: Every morning, each work you’ve left with a gallery to sell (on consignment) is checked against that gallery’s own listing: still there, still at the same price, or sold.

We start with your works and your prices, and add the rest a step at a time. All thirteen services.
